Answers to what CPAs ask most often before and after buying.
CPE Solutions, LLC is on NASBA's National Registry of CPE Sponsors, ID #111907. Boards set their own rules, though, and some require a course written specifically for that state. Check your state requirement page before buying — it is linked from every course.
Credit hours are shown on every course page and printed on your certificate along with the field of study and delivery method.
Your account holds a permanent CPE record you can print, and every certificate can be confirmed by anyone using its number on our verification page. You do not need to keep the PDF safe yourself.
No — and no sponsor does. CPE credit is self-reported: you keep the record and provide it if your board asks. That is the normal arrangement and it is not something to worry about.
What we do is keep the record for you. Every completion is stored permanently in your account with the date, credit hours, field of study and course number, and each certificate can be confirmed by anyone using its number on our verification page. If you are audited, you print it from your account.
The access period is listed on each course page. Within it you can start, stop and come back as often as you like — your progress is saved.
No. Self-study rules require the steps in order, so the review questions unlock after you open the material and the exam unlocks after that.
Retakes are included at no extra cost. The passing score is shown on the course page before you buy.
Immediately on passing. It appears under Certificates in your account and stays there.
Any current browser on a computer, tablet or phone, and an internet connection. The course material is a PDF that opens in the browser — nothing to install and nothing to download unless you want to.
The exam is taken online in the same place. If your connection drops partway through,
No. Every course is a basic-level program with no prerequisites and no advance preparation required. You do not need to have taken anything else first, and there is no reading to do before you start.
The program level, field of study and credit hours for each course are listed on its course page and printed on your certificate.
One is created for you at checkout — credit has to attach to a named person, so there is no guest option. Use the email you want your certificate sent to.
The name on your account. If it needs to match your licence exactly, set it under Account details before you finish the course.
If you are not satisfied with your course purchase, you may request a refund within 90 days of the original purchase date, provided that:
Once a course has been successfully completed and CPE credit has been issued, the course is no longer eligible for refund.
Occasionally a course is withdrawn — a state changes its rules, or the material is replaced by an updated edition. If that happens before you have finished, we will either move you to the replacement course at no cost or refund you in full, whichever you prefer. You will be emailed at the address on your account.
Credit you have already earned is not affected. A certificate stays valid, and your CPE record stays in your account, whatever happens to the course afterwards.
Usually yes. Most boards require an ethics course written for that state's rules, so a Texas course does not satisfy a Virginia requirement even though both are ethics. A few states accept a general ethics course from any registered sponsor.
Check the requirement page for each state you hold a license in — they are linked from every course page and say exactly what that board accepts.
Yes. Email [email protected] or call 1-800-545-7601 with the number of people you're covering and the states they're licensed in, and we'll set up your order with the volume discount applied. Worth asking before anyone on your team buys individually.
Each course still has to be registered under the name of the person earning the credit, since certificates carry an individual's name and license number. Send us the names and states, and we'll take care of it.
